Story
After living life on the edge of London, Rona tries to come to terms with her troubled past. Hoping for a cure, she returns to the wild beauty of Scotland’s Orkney Islands, where she grew up.. Based on Amy Liptrot’s 2016 memoir of the same name.. Rona: I Can’t Be Quietly Happy. One with the Wind was written by John Gurtler and Jan Mizer. The film deftly takes the viewer on a journey of loss and addiction and back again in two intertwining stories – the past and the present sliding into each other, revealing each other piece by piece. Saoirse Ronan’s performance embraces both stories with complete conviction. She was supported by a small but talented cast. At times, you may be a ‚fly on the wall‘. In the documentary, London and Orkney were so true to life that the characters were portrayed. The parents played especially well.Finally the background. The Orkney winter contributed a lot of drama and atmosphere. Recommended.
